How To Use

DIRTY DOWN AGING SPRAYS – USER INSTRUCTIONS

        Before You Spray:

        • Ensure surfaces are dry and grease-free
        • Mask off areas you don’t want affected
        • Shake the can well before each use

        Application Tips:

        • Apply in light, even coats (the shade darkens with each layer)
        • Hold the can 30cm (12 inches) from the surface
        • Keep the nozzle fully pressed down – half-pressing can cause spotting
        • For small patches, use a paper stencil
        • Darker patches, spray closer to the surface
        • Spray in one smooth sweep across the surface
        • Avoid heavy spraying – it may drip or puddle

        Smearing the Effect:

        • Re-wet with water, then dab or rub with a damp cloth
        • Best results occur while still wet, but smearing is also possible when dry
        • May not smear well on absorbent surfaces

        Important Notes:

        • May not stick to polished surfaces
        • Effects are water solublethey will wash off but may leave stains
        • Always test on a hidden area first
        • Do not use in wet weather

        Washing Instructions:

        • Tough residue: Try methylated spirits (test!)
        • Fabric: Use quality detergent and stain remover
        • Plastic: Clean with mild detergent and water

DIRTY DOWN LIQUID EFFECTS - USER INSTRUCTIONS

        IMPORTANT:

        • A 25ml bottle covers approximately 3×3 feet / 1×1 meters / 1 m²
        • A 250ml bottle covers up to 30×30 feet / 9×9 meters / 83 m²

Coverage may vary depending on surface texture and application thickness.

        Before Use:

        • Shake thoroughly until the ball bearing rattles
        • Stir with an old brush until all lumps are gone
        • Keep both the pot and the surface at room temperature
        • Tip: Warm the pot in your pocket for 30–60 min before use for easier mixing

        Usage Instructions:

        • Always clean the brush immediately after use with water or methylated spirits
        • Do not let paint dry and harden on the brush
        • The liquid will settle—shake and stir thoroughly before each use
        • Apply straight from the pot; replace lid quickly during use to prevent thickening
        • Evaporation thickens the paint and darkens the colour
        • Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and non-porous (glass, sealed wood, painted walls, plastic, etc.)
        • Avoid porous materials like raw timber or paper
        • Effects may wash off with water or handling when wet
        • If applying to painted surfaces, test first and seal if needed
        • To lighten:
          • Add water to a separate pot (not the original!)
          • Or use a damp brush during application

        For Grooves or Texture:

        • Apply paint, then wipe raised areas with a damp cloth at an angle to leave pigment in recesses

        To Darken:

        • Apply multiple coats
        • Let each coat fully dry before the next

        For Patchy Effects:

        • Apply in small uneven patches and let dry irregularly

        For Shade Variation:

        • While wet or dry, dab with a damp brush or cloth
        • Or splash with water and let dry without touching
        • The more water used, the more separation into light/dark tones

        For Very Dark Shades:

        • Let paint evaporate in a separate pot before use (thickens & darkens it)

        Brush Application Tips
